Tartan Systems is a suite of open source financial accounting programs comprising, inter alia, the following modules: General Ledger (Nominal Ledger),Creditor's Ledger (Accounts Payable),Debtor's Ledger (Accounts Receivable),Store's Ledger (Inventory), Sales Invoicing, Asset's Register, Member's Ledger (Sports and Other Clubs), Rental's Ledger, Salaries and Wages (ZA), Staff Loans.
The modules are written in the Python programming language, licensed under the GPL and copyrighted by Paul Malherbe. Because Python is platform independent, Tartan is equally at home with both the Linux and Windows operating systems.
